Data Collector: Unsure if the Data Drift Identification applies to ALL supported data origins or just Hive and Postgres.

asked 2020-05-21 07:34:26 -0500

Hi,

I am new to the StreamSets Product family. While I am getting introduced to the various Data Collector features, I am unsure if the Data Drift Identification applies to ALL supported data origins or just Hive and Postgres. Or am I getting confused between Drift Identification and Drift Synchronisation ?

Can you please clarify ? The reason I am posing my question is because I was reading this :

  1. https://streamsets.com/documentation/...

  2. https://streamsets.com/documentation/...

Hive or Postgres are the choices you have for the drift synchronization stage. This is separate from what the origin is. Both documentation pages you linked indicate you can use "the origin of your choice".

Piggy backing on what Jeff said, and to answer your other question, Drift Identification and Drift Synchronisation are two different things. For details on data drift identification and setting up alerts, refer to the documentation.

Cheers, Dash
